Wilkinson's live performances and recorded output have long been admired and supported by the TQN-aut team and we are therefore excited and honoured to be releasing Vol 2 in his 'no longer lost' series.
When released last year Vol 1 'Throttle Ego Temple' sold out on his own label (
muzamuza.bandcamp.com) and referring to this series of releases Wilkinson told TQ zine (#34/35 - Oct 2020), "sessions would often take the form of 14-hour all-nighters with various equipment set-ups specifically for improvised live takes...every now and then we would have listening sessions where we selected material fit for use on releases, but a lot of the tapes would get left behind"
Reviews of Throttle Ego Temple (No Longer Lost Series Vol 1)
"It's only slightly rough around the edges, and the sounds are largely far-from-dated, it fact it's pretty spellbinding how comfortably this quarter century old session fits in alongside modern-day electro-improv groups in terms of digital-squall. It's practically a forgotten paragraph in the history of British freeform electronics, which all too often leapfrogs from the industrial powered noises of the 80's to the unknowable blogosphere of the 00s" - The Quietus
"Sympathetically, synthetically and symbiotically secreting sounds that blend and would stand as singular sound sources yet create a mysterious whole as if they are envisaging a similar scene without unnecessary intrusions. Alliteration of sorts abound amid the acrylic adventure. Vocals become slightly less discrete yet no more discernable than previously as the textures continue wafting across the void between woofer, tweeter and cochlea. Head sinks into cushion. Lost in sound. Immersion perfection. Unsettling in parts. Understated use of voices. Found? Lost!" - TQ zine
